Meet William He

William He is the founder & CEO of Dream for America, a national youth movement dedicated to identifying, educating, & empowering students to promote liberal values. William founded Dream for America on July 4th, 2023 at just 16 years old.

With over 17,000 grassroots donors, a 1,000 person volunteer network spanning all 50 states, and a social media presence with over 300,000 followers and 200 million impressions — Dream for America is the fastest-growing liberal youth activist organization in the country.

His work has been featured in POLITICO, MeidasTouch, and the Associated Press, and was the youngest organizational leader at the 2024 Democratic National Convention. A dedicated organizer since age 11, William first volunteered for March for Our Lives after the Parkland school shooting. William also volunteered in campaigns for Sen. Ed Markey and President Joe Biden, and has organized local events for Black Lives Matter and universal basic income.

In 2021, he launched Bread for America, an anti-hunger nonprofit that raised over $40,000 to provide 10,000 pounds of food to underserved communities. He also briefly served as a U.S. Senate Page for Sen. John Cornyn & continues to lead in his community as senior class president and chair of his hometown’s youth advisory council.

Outside of politics, William is a varsity rower, model airplane collector, competes on the Model UN & Debate team, studies Latin, and is fluent in English and Mandarin. William also enjoys an avid interest in cinema, travel, & books about history, religion, and philosophy.
