Gen-Z at the DNC: Dream for America in Chicago RECAP

Back to News

Gen-Z’s first DNC is in the books: the Dream for America team was proud to present at the ‘DemPalooza’ Allied Groups Convention Expo & join thousands of fellow progressives to witness history at the 2024 Democratic National Convention in Chicago!

As the youngest organization (we were founded just 1 year ago) with the youngest leader (our founder William He is just 17-years-old) at the DNC, our team manned a booth at McCormick Place and engaged in insightful conversations with thousands of curious visitors driving hundreds of volunteer signs ups. While we ran out of signs, stickers, and other merchandise several times, we were able to quickly restock thanks to our partners at Artist Proof Collective & Minuteman Press.

Our team also hosted a lunch and reception with Amy McGrath, Mike Schmuhl, Rep. Cheri Bustos, & our CEO William He at the Mercury Public Affairs, LLC office in Chicago. Our event drew 100+ RSVP’s and attendees & received attention in POLITICO Playbook.

And live from the United Center, National Organizing Director Nathaniel Pelton joined Kenneth Harbaugh on MeidasTouch’s award-winning Burn the Boats podcast. William He joined Anthony Barkett and Michael Kristoff on Political Playlist and was the subject of a documentary by Deutsche Welle.

Special shout out to Dream Team members Shaeleigh Severino, James Steinberger, Cristian Camberos, Lawrence McIntosh, Joshua Metters, Luika Rohy, & Tyler Ybarra for making this past week possible.

Gen-Z is fired up and ready to go. Together, we will spread liberal values on campus & build a progressive alternative to Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.
